5 Year Fixed Wiring Testing of 12 Office Units. 

The team at Matt Browning Ltd were appointed as electrical contractor to carry out periodic inspection &testing of the fixed wire electrical installation at a12-unit office complex in Bracknell, Berkshire.

On completion of the work we compiled a comprehensive Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) for each office building, confirming compliance with BS7671 standards where applicable and listing any observed non-compliances and safety defects.


Returning to this site for a second successive time, having carried out inspection & testing five years prior, most of the inspection & testing (also known as a five-year fixed wiring test) was undertaken outside normal office hours to allow the work to be carried out safety without any disruption to the occupants of the buildings.

Our engineers have a well-established testing routine, are fully qualified to the latest BS7671 18th edition electrical standards and follow rigorous health and safety procedures. Together with the latest certification software this enables us to provide high quality reports that clearly and comprehensively reflect the condition of installation. Wherever practical we also provide photo documentation of any defects observed.

At Matt Browning Electrical, our experienced electricians can upgrade old fluorescent lighting in nurseries, schools, colleges, and universities with the latest LED lighting technology - not only improving lighting performance and reducing future maintenance costs, but also delivering significant cost reductions through reduced energy consumption. We were recently asked to upgrade the old fluorescent lighting in classroom and corridor areas in this school building. Our complimentary site survey found many of the fluorescent tubes and control-gear components had failed, and with fluorescent lighting technology being phased out for environmental and energy saving reasons, we provided a fixed price quote for an LED lighting upgrade. We supplied & installed LED lighting from Ansell and low glare lighting from Ovia in classroom areas. With automatic control through occupancy sensors and dimmable controls for the classroom, performance has improved whilst energy costs have reduced.
