However, as a guide to pricing , our standard installation service includes up to 10m of cable, surface clipped up to 2m above ground level, routed through one wall. It assumes your consumer unit is fully compliant with current standards (BS7671:2018+A2:2022) with a spare non-RCD protected way, and surge protection already fitted. It is also dependant on the brand of your consumer unit - which affects availability and compatibility of safety devices that comply with current requirements for EV chargers. 

Dont worry if you think your installation does not meet these requirements - we can advise and provide a cost effective solution.

Standard Installation Checklist:

• Private Home  and Parking Space
• Charger to be mounted on external wall or garage
• Cable route not more than 10m and less than 2m above ground level
• Up to one hole to be drilled through wall
• Existing electricity supply is suitable
• Equipotential Bonding is fitted to gas, water, and any other services where required
• Consumer Unit & associated items are in suitable condition and comply with BS7671:2018+A2:2022
• Consumer Unit has spare non-RCD protected way
• Consumer unit manufacturer produces double pole or switched neutral RCBO's - mixed brands devices not acceptable
• Consumer unit has surge protection fitted

For most domestic homes, the maximum size charge point is 7kW and a typical 8-to-10-hour overnight charge ensures most vehicles are at maximum range every morning. For properties with large electrical loads or a small incoming electrical supply, we offer a flexible range of power ratings, with options for automatic load management to manage short term peaks in demand. For larger properties with 3 phase electricity, we also offer 22kW electric vehicle charge points, as well as workplace and fleet charging solutions. Exact charging times are affected by vehicle model and driving patterns.

We prefer to carry out a site survey wherever possible to ensure we have everything covered when our electricians arrive to install your EV charger. It ensures we can provide a fixed price quote and the best service. Alternatively, if you can send us photos, we can provide an estimate remotely. 

The survey takes about 10 minutes and involves checking your incoming electrical supply, consumer unit, cable routes and the proposed location for your new charge point. We can also discuss your requirements and answer any questions.
